Currently my boat is tarped which allows me to crawl inside with some warmth and do small maintenance tasks, or to pretend I am out sailing. I'm also working on a sliding hatch cover like on Mike Laine's boat. Based on your info then I don't need to use the front stays, but instead can use my forestay to attach to the gin pole or A Frame, and the full shrouds attached to the spreaders are what keep the mast from falling over. Sound correct? Thanks for your help.
