Tohatsu manufactures Mercury outboards under 10 hp. I have an 8 hp 4 stroke Tohatsu longshaft and it pushes the 26 at 6 knots. I've been to the Rock and back, 23 miles each way, under power and used 3 gallons. That's about 15+ mpg. Not bad for a little motor and you can't hardly hear it run. The best part is it starts every time I pull. I'm so impressed, no kidding, it sleeps in the house when I'm not anchored in Mexico. I picked it up new on Ebay a few years ago. Mike Laine
