In Response To: hull paint (Steve CM 26 Ohio)

Steve...watched an episode of ShipShape TV in which they applied a new product which is 2 part but designed for do it yourselfers. After preparation of the hull surface, which included repairs of dings and much sanding and getting all the old wax off, the 2 part was mixed and rolled on.

Following the guy with the roller was another with a brush "tipping" the paint. When this was finished it rivaled any spray on job. The hull looked like a hunk of glass.

I'm not sure, but I believe the product used was made by Inter-lux. You can find prices and advice on shipshapetv.com or West Marine.

Several of the major manufacturers are using the 2 part paints instead of gelcoat. Friend of mine just finshed building a Farrier Trimaran and used the 2 part finish in white. The boat and the finish are spectacular.

I invited you once before to visit the Alum Creek Sailing Marina just north of Columbus because you are so close. We can put boats in their slips April 1. Good luck and Happy Clippering !
