Is that same number on your mainsail? That's almost as good as providing your Hull Identification Number. If you are not sure what that is, your assignment is to go back to the archives: you will find many, many hits. I'll jump ahead a bit, though, because I have the HIN for both boats that bracket yours, 437 and 439, and they were both built in June, 1973. So, unless there is something amiss, your HIN should be CLM004380673 (look under the outboard cut-out on the transom). Please confirm. I'd be interested to know whether 438 is a doghouse or flush deck. The manual, as well as other Clipper info, some of it good, some not so much, can be found at the link below. Thanks, Greg
