Hi Rob, Can't tell you much about ol' 248...the bracketing numbers in the database are a Virginia boat CLM002440273 (#244) and CLM002570273 (#257). Both were built in February, 1973, which makes it very likely that your boat was, too. That is 4 months after HINs went mandatory, so it's also very likely that under the outboard cut-out, down near the waterline, you should find some characters stamped into the hull that are a little over 1/4" high, and they should read "CLM002480273." Let us know if any of these likelihoods failed.
