CM21 Seaworthy?

Dear all, This is my first question to the group, thanks for having me.

My friend and I got a CM21 for free last winter. We have to do some glasswork to the hull, not such thing as a free boat right! We have been supporting the back section of the hull and will soon be glassing over the whole bottom.

I have 3 questions:

1. What is the seaworthyness of these boats? I know the keel is wieghted centerboard and in an event of capsizing these can fall back into the trunk. How do these boats handle strong winds, high seas, and knockdowns?

2. Second, I am planning out some form of boom tent and I haven't been able to find any plans for CM21's. For confortable seating in cockpit would the tent need something to hold it out like the typical PVC pipe deal or can it go straight for the lifelines?

3. Lastly, anything I should know as a newbie to Clipper marines and the CM21 outside of what I ask?

thanks -nathan Chase Arcata, CA and Vancouver, BC
