I've never had mine on the open sea, But I've sailed her in Big wind (40+MPH) and large waves(15+ft). She never has capsized, the rigging held, and the pin in the keel kept her from slamming the hull. The keel has a tendensy to bounce in dbig waves without the pin. the rudder come out of the water in big waves, and I broke one in half tring to keep her into the waves. I've beached mine hard on sandy shore and had the crap beat out of her at the dock. she's filled up with water and still stayed afloat. The worst thing that has happened to me is the keel wire breaking and the keel sticking in the mud. I have an owners manual to all the boats but I've loaned it out to Larrel and he is working on a 23tweenkeel and hasn't brought it back yet. From what I've read here on this sight, these boat are sea worthy and if yours is in good shape, I'm shure you can trust her. Never seen a tent on a 21cm. Be sure to check there rubber washer on the keel wench, mine gave way and broke my hand. If i think of anything else I will post it here. I check this sight daily. Good luck have fun fair winds!
