Hi Tom, Do you have pictures of how your keel cable system works? I have the US made version and spent quite a bit of effort re-engineering a working solution. I am pleased now with how my boat works, its finally dry. There are pics on my link if you are interested.
The only other problem that I consider an issue with these clippers is the false bilge. Its a hollow area in the keel trunk and when the front of the trunk gets mushed from a broke cable water will go in. When I cut it open to examine it I found the wood floor underside not sealed. I finally gave up and foamed the entire false bilge. Looks dry now, even if it isn't I give up and figure there is nowhere for the water to go now.
The boat sails great, I enjoy it as much as I can. Easy to trailer.
