Welcome to the world of windbags.
The best way to get direct help with your new hobby is to find other sailors on Lake Tahoe. There must be others near you. And they don't have to have a boat your size either. If you can find someone with a dingy, like a Laser, or any smaller boat with a main and jib, then that basic information will apply directly to your Clipper.
One of the best books on sailing is "Royce's Sailing Illustrated" by Patrick Royce. The book has been around since the mid '50s with constant updates along the way. It's a simple and straightforward approach to sail boats and learning how to sail. And the book is available in most marine stores that have sailing books, like West Marine. Amazon has it also. At around $15 it's the best buy you can make.
Royce also has written many other sailing books aimed at different types of sailing. The guy was an active sailor and sailing teacher as well as a writer.
Anyway, you'll love the 21 and there are lots of them on the board. Many folks have pulled the keels for overhaul and will guide you through that.
