I am wondering what the factory used to seal the chain plates? Is there something better out now days? What do you folks use to seal chain plates? ( or any SS to fiberglass connection that will see flex.)

Would cleaning the area and applying a nice bead of silicone do the trick? The previous owner used JB weld witch cracked and was not that visually appealing. Heres the pick, as you can see it will leak and looks a little less than beautiful.Photobucket

I have the same situation on the bow eye. This is slightly worse, as I can not get access to the inside. The front bulk head in the V berth blocks all access to the first foot of the bow. Here is the bow eye pick.Photobucket

V berth terminating in bulkhead.Photobucket

How would you go about fixing this? Cut out the bulk head and replace after the bow eye is fixed?

Is this the "Stock?" winch placement? (in previous pick) More winch picks to come.

The spreaders on the mast are damaged, I was wondering is could I just cut them shorter and reattach, or do I need to fully replace them? How dangerous would it be to sail with them in this condition? Photobucket

Thanks again for the time and advice.
