If I were to make another: * Measure the distance from bow to top of mast carefully. * Use amsteel blue again. * Measure sail considering stretch. * Size amsteel blue to the (2) thimbles and the (2) Long DEE-Shackles carefully. * Consider line + sail + Shackle stretch. * Make pennant length a little shorter than you desire. My current pennant is 4 years old and I leave it attached to my head sail which is packed in the bag together. It is light and does not wear on the sail, being made of soft and flexible fiber. I wish that my current thimbles were smaller and better sized to the Long Dee-Shackles but I used what I had available. It still works great. When I made mine I didn't measure the sail ...... I got very lucky. The length was perfect, even after bearing down on the jib line. I changed sails and it also fit like a glove. If you go too long on the pennant you'll be back at the drawing board. I'm in the States now otherwise I would give you the length but I doubt it would be the same since you have a CM 21. I was mostly looking to clear the front pulpit because I sail in weather and the sail gets wet and rubbed and the rail. Not now! The brummel splice was an interesting attempt at neatness using the following directions: http://www.neropes.com/SPL_12Strand_EyeSpliceBrummel.aspx After all this BS ...... a short cut of jib line would do the same thing.
