I don't know about your trailer, but mine very definitely has brakes on the trailing axle only (two wheels, not four). When I bought my boat, the state insisted that I weigh the trailer empty. I did so, and the scale said it was within just a few pounds of 1,000. Take that from your 3,400, it leaves a "curb weight" CM26 at 2,400 lbs. It is interesting that I have seen published figures that put the weight of the CM26 at 2,400 pounds. That's pretty good agreement. My rear-drive pickup truck has never failed to pull the boat out on slippery, gravel-covered ramps, but on occasion it has been only just barely! Greg
