(Blaine) This last Sunday race it got up in the mid 50's but that was the nicest day of winter so far. A few of us crazies (as our wives say) start the winter series in November and race rain or shine. I have been out in temps as low as lower 40's. We did cancel one race this year due to temps below freezing and winds around 30 knots gusting to around 50. The only reason it was canceled was that the spray was freezing on the decks and making the boats too slippery to be race safely...otherwise we would have raced in those winds or in that temperature...just not both. Tell your friends they should put on the big boy pants and get out there with you...isn't that what good foulies are for?
