In Response To: no permits (Danny Bond)

Just a reminder: the no permit for cars is good only in Sonora down to Empalme. At Empalme, you can get a Sonora Only Permit for the rest of Sonora.
BUT if you are driving into another state in Mexico(such as farther south), you SHOULD HAVE gotten a 6 mo Federal permit at the 21 Kms where you got your Tourist Visa. I have been told that you cannot get the Federal 6 mo permit at Empalme. (Can anyone verify this?)
If you have a current 6 month, you can still turn it in at 21Km.(for now) But you do still have to turn it in!
