I've heard that with watermakers if you don't use them on a regular basis that they will start to fail. I believe the reason is the sediment and stuff that sticks to the diaphragm gets hardened. Some new ones have supposedly fixed this problem but I assume they are probably costly. Personally, depending on the length of time of each stay, I'd calculate water usage and use the 30 gal. you have, supplemented by bottled water you bring down or purchase enroute or locally.
