Was in Santa Rosalillita, on the Pacific side just a few days ago. Just like the highway into Bay of LA, they are building a similar one to the Pacific side about 10 miles west of the Transpeninsular Highway. Its now paved about three miles in and they are working hard on getting it thru to the coast. They have dredged and built a rock sea wall around the basin where they will splash and haul. Saw a large number of trucks and workers on the project. They still will need to install the supporting superstructure and finish the yard and paving but when they do, they will cut hundreds of miles of sea time between the sea and the Pacific. It may be great for some people but you have to feel bad that some of the most unspoiled parts of the sea will be within too easy reach of too many...
