im able to use my cartographic gps garmin plus 5 and hook it up to my laptop and load digital charts too. the charts of the sea of cortez are pretty low resolution but its kind of nice to map my boat location on a larger screen. i think the software is mapsource it came with the gps. i havent updated in 5 years so the current softwar/gps i would assume is MUCH better . the charts in the sea of cortez provided by GARMIN should not be used for navigation. hope that helps otto
