Have made this crossing many times in the April/May timeframe. Chances are probably 70% you will have northerlies but sometimes southerlies and anything in between. I would plan on Northerlies if I was doing it with contingencies for others. It would be a great sail to escondido with winds on the quarter pulling the apparent to beam! But, of course when you plan on that you will get a southerly headwind.

In Novemeber 2005 I planned a trip to Lapaz, anticipating northerlies and had headwinds, changed plans and went to San Jaunico and still had a great trip. Southerly in November!

Maybe we should have a regatta on that weekend and sail to Escondido? I would be intereseted in comparing Pranava to a Stilletto in a non handicap race. We could probably get some more multihulls from SC to join.
