It is appropriate to watch your butt.. However, if one chooses to do something else,, not a problem with me..
Take wood cutting for example.. I can wear a hard hat, face screen, kevlar gloves, chaps, and steel toed boots.. Would I be as safe as if I walked out stark naked to run that chain saw?
Sometimes the existence of safety gear leads one into hazards..
Avalanche beacons are a classic example.. People actually think they can ski suspect terrain while wearing one, as evidenced by the fatality last week near Mammoth Mtn.
