looking for crew position/informal charter/inexpensive sailing lessons

I'm looking to buy a pocket cruiser to keep in San Carlos, but don't have any experience sailing in the cortez (my experience is limited to lake sailing in a catalina 25). My girlfriend and I will be doing a month long kayak roadtrip to baja in april/may and would like to spend a few days sailing to get familiar with the area, out of either San Carlos, La Paz, or Loreto.
Does anyone have any leads on how we could arrange to crew or do an informal charter or sailing lessons (i.e. at less than standard charter rates) while we're down there?
