Since there is no longer a car permit required to drive to San Carlos, there is no stop to make for the vehicle.

But most rental agencies do not allow their trucks into Mexico. Be sure to get Mexican Ins. I don't believe customs will ask when you declare your goods. I have been told that with an FM-3, you get one load of hosehold goods duty free.
