I believe that Garmin units can only download Garmin's own proprietary charts such as their "Blue Charts". I currently have a Garmin 76CS and would have to buy the Blue Chart package, select the area and download that. I don't think Garmin units are compatable with the NOAA RNC or ENC downloads. It's how they keep us coming back for more..... I've downloaded some of the ENC's and RNC's and use soem GIS software to view them. There is no charge but have a waiver on them "Not to be used for navigation". I also have access to a large plotter so I am able to print out the full size charts, but would never use them for "navigation" of course.
