elpolvo..I agree. When I read it over it didn't make sense. What I meant to say..Many vessels had vessel numbers ingraved in a main beam below the deck. When an old sunken vessel is discovered the divers will look for vessel numbers in this area of the vessel. The reason is that many times the name plate will be lost or deteriorate because of time and water conditions.
