I just got set back a bit, maybe for the better. Just bought a hair salon for the wife and it isn't closed yet and scratching for the cash to get it closed. I've spent a total of about 3 weeks in Guaymas, nada in San Carlos. I had a great time as I have every place I've been in Mexico. The key I think is always mixing with the locals. I started going to Mexico to compete in the North American Fiedl Archery Championships Then I went on a building mission to build a church school. After working with the Mexicans for 6 weeks and spending evenings in the Plaza with them I was in love with their culture. Then I spent 6 months just bumming around down there while between blue eyed blonds (big mistakes - 3 times) and I was hooked. The only problem I have ever had in Mexico was a traffic ticket in Mexico city for the odd/even license plate thing and that was a $10 Mordida thing and the cop excorted me to the freeway and got safely outta town. Beats the crap out of $25-50 trip to see the judge with the wasted time and all. Best part is the the cop can now put a couple meals on his kids table. I don't know about San Carlos,as I've read of a couple problems on this board, but I wouldn't worry about non-gringo Mexico. There still are a few of those places......
