SC vs La Paz

Walt, I trailered a 23 foot Ericson down from Wisconsin last summer and put in at San Carlos. From there we spent 3 months cruising to La Paz and back to SC. Had an awesome time. Picked up a little shortwave receiver to stay up on the weather and we were able to pick good windows for whatever sail we did. San Carlos and La Paz are both great ports to stage from. Having spent some time driving in Baja with a rental car, my only concern might be trailering a boat on some of the roads there. It was an easy cruise from the US border to SC and the new duty free Sonora was a breeze. If the trip to SC adds too much mileage from Wahington, you might consider putting in at Bahia De Los Angeles. Have not been there but heard it's nice.
