I have trailered a 26 x many times from Phx to San Carlos, which is the place you want to go, not Guaymas. The highway is great and now no vehicle permits! You will have no problems with your boat. We crossed the sea several times from San Carlos to Conception or Chivato- check the map. Watch the local weather for northers, jsut listen to the net on Ch 72 every morning and you will get the ham updates passed on to you. The northers are tied to the Santa Anna winds in CA so when they are blowing in CA get ready for some blowing in the Sea of Cortez. Talk with the locals but rememebr they are very conservative with the emphasis on very. We were told we were crazy to cross to the BAHA in a water ballast boat, just be a little careful with the weather. The cruising on the mainland side, north of San Carlos is excellent also. You can spend many 2 week trips just exploring there. Better in the summer up to about mid-July, more consistent moderate winds, warm water, better fishing, etc. Have Fun
