mirage south of puerto penasco

Report: outside forum guidelines

I was recently in puerto penasco on a hill looking to the south down the west coast of the main land toward the Mayan resort and onward toward Bahia Kino. There appeared to be 3 large mountains (islands) along the coast inland of what is called Bird Island. I was told these are a mirage. Has anyone sailed or flown over this area and also seen these? Any info would be greatly appreciated.
