With as much wind as the sea gets, I think we will need the weight to keep from rolling and swimming. Its almost not possible to single hand with wind over 20kts. We will keep gear weight down, we dont have much room anyway. I am 21 and fit. Plan on wearing wet suits, uncomfortable but they do the trick. We are use to cold water, sailing in Wyoming. We were not planning on a VHF or EPIRB. We are sailing down the Sea, not in the Pacific. Thanks for the response
