We ran into a yound german couple a couple years ago kayaking from Loreto to La Paz following the coast and camping wherever they could, waiting out the worst of the northers, they were starting to show some wear and tear by the time we ran into them in Los Gatos (also known as El Gato or Gatos). Their primary problem besides the high winds and short steep seas was finding enough fresh water to drink and cook with, all their meals were the dehydrated type. Good luck to both of you, enjoy the aventure!
