If the boat is in condition, maintenance is not that time consuming. I have maintained our 66 year old Tahiti for the past 29 years. In the spring I spend the better part of two weeks getting it ready, putting it in the water and rigging it. During the season I spend less than 10 days working on it and when we lay it up for the winter it usually takes a week. If you like to putter, there is always something you can do - I like to sail so keeping it solid and looking good are my priorities. I'll be happy to provide more details if you wish.
