Danger? in the sea of cortez

Hello, I'm wondering about dangers in the shallows of the sea of cortez near the Hotel Palmas de Cortez. We'll be there with our 13/15 year old children and want to spend some time swimming in the sea. In mid March -- are there jelly fish in the area? Also, I see that the fishing fleet is close to the hotel beach area -- does the presence of these boats draw scavenger fish that may pose a danger to nearby swimmers? Note: this resort is on the coast between La Paz and San Jose Del Cabo. THANKS FOR ANY INFO!
