Teach your kids the sting ray shuffle if it is sandy. Also know what fish to touch and which ones to avoid. Otherwise, we have never had any problems in the area from LA Bay to Loreto. We did encounter some small jellies in the fall, but nothing serious. Dive skins - light nylon suits -- prevent any problem. They are cheap.

Just got back from LA bay. It was great, but windy at times. Water was still pretty cool - wet suits for now.

Watch out for spring break!! That is more dangerous -- drunk college kids.
