Inflatable Kayaks

Report: outside forum guidelines

Hi all,

I'm considering picking up an inflatable kayak for the Sea of Cortez to use with my sailboat. Biggest use will likely be poking around while anchored or maybe getting back and forth. Might use it to replace my dinghy as it would be lighter and no need for a kicker. There are some models that are fairly light, and others that are built much heavier and designed for heavier use with frames, etc. Is it better to just bite the bullet and go for the heavier models first or would a design for light water be fine. Any comments out there on your experiences? Any suggestions on what to get, or maybe to avoid?
