Just a note-- in the 1960's two guys had the Glaspar company build one of their 21 footers with some extra reinforcement here and there, and took it from the northernmost point they could launch it to... Acapulco! They wanted to go farther, and had planned to, but both caught malaria, as I recall, in Topolobampo, and were extremely sick when they reached Acapulco.
