If you want to see more of those, there's a great restaraunt near Cabo Pulmo, just north of Cabo San Lucas.
The guy that ows or owned it used to spear fish those things (Gouper), having the spear connected to a fifty-five gallon drum. After spearing it, he'd get back into his boat, and follow the drum until it stopped and them retrieve the fish.
By the way, if you go to his restaraunt, he's got lots of photos of that fishes big brother(s).
There's often no one there....a palapa with sand floor and simple tables.
However, if you read the sign (menu) posted out front, it will direct you to ring the bell and a few minutes later some guy will come "hot-footing" it down the road to sell you soda or beer. If you read further, you'll notice you can order sea food, before 10:00 AM and they have it for you after 5:00 PM or so.
If you order after 10:00 AM, they'll have it fresh for you the next day after about 5:00 PM or so.
The last time down, the only gas station there said they'd have fuel "Monyana".
When I asked how long they'd been saying that, they said about two weeks or so.
However, fo those who counldn't wait, theere were two teens, driving a beater pickup truck, with a rusty fifty-five gallon drum of fuel in the back.
Their price was, well, pricy.....but I saw folks who had more moeny than time.
At the price they were asking, we decided to drain the unmixed boat fuel and use it, to get us down the road a bit futher.
Great place and the pace suits me....
