If yes, a smallish Staysail works well when the wind pipes up and the Genoa needs to be rolled up. It makes your Sloop into a "Sluter". Another way is a separate headstay you could deploy as needed with a hank on working jib but it's tough to properly tension. A third way is a storm jib contraption sold by ATN (http://www.atninc.com.) It has a sleeve that slips up around your rolled Genoa. I was told by a friend of mine who owns one 1vm6that it is a bit of a challenge to raise with winds above 15-18 knts.
