This came from another site:
Destruction of House's at El Tomate (I think these are the shanties at the top end of the main bahia at San Carlos).
There is going to be a new dock built, with launching facilities, and a restaurant and possible houses as soon as the Federal Zone permit is issued. The application is now in Mexico City awaiting approval which the applicant has been told it will be approved. The single lane road to the area will be graded and made into a two lane paved road. The owner and builder is Mexican and he will be handling the whole project himself.

A subsequent post by another person:
The property owner is Mexican and he made a deal to pay-off all of the people that had shacks there if they would move out. None of them lived there full-time so they did not have the possesion rights that, say, the people in La Manga have. I was there yesterday, with the police, when the owner came and paid them all off. Condiminiums will be built on the hill past the fish camp and the spot where the fish camp is will be a beach area. The road will be made into a two lane paved road from the CyberCo area to the fish camp and there will be public docks but you will not be able to leave a boat overnight Email: bigdon610@yahoo.com
An additional post by Mel:
I had lunch with the owner and he informed me of his plans. The only thing different is it was my understanding that permanent dockage was in his plans. What spurred this initially was the refusal by Mr. Grossman to allow his charter boats to dock at Marina San Carlos. He has 5 charter boats on moorings.
