Do yourself a favor. Breakdown and spend $1750 or so for a new Norvane. I went through all the crap your talking about. They all work but not like a decent windvane. The Norvane is truely a free 24/7 crewmember that steers better than any humane I've sailed with and it's trouble free. Do a google search and you can find all kinds of sites with the info you are looking for. Jim
