Todd -- There are *no* docks up the coast from San Carlos, and almost no villages at all. A dinghy makes your trip much more enjoyable, although some people anchor close to shore and swim to the beach. This is a very wild and remote area. Don't go without being fully self-sufficient in all aspects of cruising. Pay especially close attention to your ground tackle and water supply. Have fun, and see you there. Johnny
