Be tide and current conscious

You may wish to not only be weather aware, but also current and tide conscious.

At the top of the Sea of Cortez, as one nears the Midriff Islands and in some other locations, the tides and associated currents can either be a big help or a serious problem.

With an extreme tidal change, in some areas, at some times, approaching 27 vertical feet, currents can run so fast you could probably surf off the back of an anchored boat, if the anchor held. One could be beach combing one minute and then trapped and swimming hard the next. It also may result in a beached boat floating or a floating boat being "put aground".

Again, in one's preparation and in one's enjoyments on the Sea of Cortez, one should also be tide and current conscious.

Keep us informed as to how your doing and what you are discovering.
