Elpolvo's tip on the online insurance worked well for me. Got mine for $145 as opposed to $220 that the local agents wanted, plus I got more coverage. Elpovo: I entered Mexico and cleared customs through Ensenada after departing San Diego. I stopped in at the Coral Hotel and Marina as they offered a package where they do up a lot of the paper work for you, take you down and through the customs and immigration process for a small fee. It was well worth it for me. Baja Navel and I am sure others will do the same thing for you. Can't speak to the return trip as I have not been back yet nor plan to for another 8 or 9 years when I have to leave to renew my 10 year permit. La Paz has been a little cool right now, with a long extended period of Northerners driving the fleet dock crazy but anyone who comes in is really happy to be safely tied to a dock.
