buying boat in Mexico

Hi there, I am in the process of buying a Rawson 30 thats in La Paz. The current owners are canadian and I am not planning on bringing the boat back to the US soon. Any advice on the best way to go about transferring ownership? Should I just register the boat in my home state? (AZ) THanks- eric
