In Response To: crossing the sea of cortez (Jeffrey Mark Kallam)

If you are curious about conditions, you may wish to consider...past conditions may help you forecast future conditions.

It isn't perfect, but gives you some starting point; then you can use local forcasts as you get closer to your departure date.

For past history of conditions, I often use this site's info.

One can go to: http://www.cruisecortez.com/sancarlos.htm

Then click on the town's name listed on the page's left side.

When that next page comes up you'll note soem have a weather box.

At the bottom of that box is "click for forecast".

If you click on it it will show current conditions.

Scroll down and you'll find you can input dates of interest from the past.

I use these to see how the last several years' weather patterns have been.

It helps me guess what this year may be... then I use local forcast information available just before I sail.
