I thought this may be of some interest to some folks on this site. It was posted on another site:

For those interested in current travel information, including highway maintenance, border crossing times and current travel events for both Arizona and Sonora, see the interactive highway map provided by the Arizona Deptarment of Transportation at http://www.az511.gov/hcrsweb/sonora.jsp. That looks like a great site, and well-needed. I am not sure about the accuracy of the road conditions/maintenance information. I just returned from a round trip to Kino via Nogales down, and Lukeville back and there are a few problems to be encountered. I don't know if this is the place to report them, but here goes. 15 from Nogales south to Santa Anna has more potholes than usual, and 15 north from Hermosillo to Santa Anna is the same. We saw one fatal accident, probably due to speeding and/or potholes along a 2 lane stretch between Hermosilllo and Sta. Anna. There is a lot of road maintenance along this stretch. MX2 from Altar to Caborca east bound has 12 miles of dirt side roads for road paving and the last few miles W into Caborca follows the old route, which is very narrow and not very safe for towing big RVs due to big trucks and some speeders. Maybe next year. Once done it will be one of the best in MX.
