La Paz to San Carlos Questions

Hi there. I recently bought a stout and well outfitted Rawson 30 cutter and need to deliver it from La Paz to San Carlos for the summer. I am keen for any tips from those of you who have done this trip.I had expected to have a few months sailing out of La Paz to get to know the boat but due to bizarre circumstances it looks like I need to do a shake down day sail and then head north. Any tips? I am a bit embarrassed by my lack of ocean sailing background so I a keen for any advice. Thanks- Eric
