Here's some info you may find of some interest, from the Tucson Sailing Club.

http://www.tucsonsailingclub.com/

I've buddy boated a number of times with member of this group. They are outstanding folks, lots of fun and buddy boating will put you with folks who are also generally sailor going your way.

Perhaps you may also find some of their info helpful or helpful for you to hook up with them for buddy boat them on the return leg of their trip from La Paz to San Carlos in mid June or so.

The info given below will also provide contact info if you have questions, etc.

It is from the following web page:

http://www.tucsonsailingclub.com/cruising.htm

It will describe the following:

The May 2008 Cruise (Monday May 26th) "We are planning a trip to La Pas. We will cruise directly to LA Pas a distance of about 230 NM. This will take between 3 to 4 days depending on conditions. On the way back we will stop at several anchorages and end up near Loreto. From there we will head back across to San Carlos. The whole trip will be about 3 Weeks.

This web page also contains the added bonus of the following pre-trip planning info:

http://www.tucsonsailingclub.com/pdf/TUCSON%20SAILING%20CLUB%20La%20Paz%20Cruise%20MAY%202008A_V2.pdf

Hope this is of some help,
