Latest Guymas cruise info:

10-DAY MEXICAN RIVIERA & SEA OF CORTEZ

2008 Sails: October 12th, 2008 for 10 nights

Starting in San Diego with stops in Cabo San Lucas, Loreto, Guaymas, Topolobampo, Mazatlan, Puerto Vallarta

At present, the price for this crusie from San Diego, no airfare, is about $1,786.80 for two passengers in an inside cabin or $893.40 average cost per passenger.

The price for a Balcony cabin is : $14,547.00 (Category PS; $7,273.50 average cost per passenger)

Man we are saving lots of $$$ by trailering our own boat and cruising ourselves.

Now if I can just get those towels to fold into those cute animal shapes, we've got it made...!

However the pro's only are charging $178.68 per day per person for cruising including boat, room, food, entertainment, cabin cleaning serves, etc.

Last time I took my own boat down it cost us about $100 per person per day. Even considering boat and tow vehicle prep, travel down and back food and gas, plus the cost to fix the axle problems and tow vehicle transmission on the trip back home....that about equalled the cost it would have been in round trip airfare for each of us to get to San Diego and back to SLC.

Cruising on our own boat, even at $100 per person per day for the entire 2000 miles we took by car and around 300 miles of boat cruising allowed us to do our own thing at our own pace and we saw lots of stuff we wouldn't have on a cruise ship trip.

Besdies I told my wife the extra money we needed to throw at the broken axle and burnt up tranny was OK because we neeeded to replace that axle and tranny anyway...we just didn't know it.

Those cost were around what it would have cost for us all to take a plane from SLC to San Diego and back to catch the cruise ship trip ....so that's a wash.

I'm also not convinced one realy sees the Loreto or Guaymas area with a one day cruise ship lay-over and commercially guided 2 or 3 hours excursion.
