Jim, I totally agree with your perspective.

I somewhat recently returned from Chicago and a trip exploring and sailing a bit on lake Michigan.

I was a most excellent adventure, very fun and extremely picturesque.

I ran across this and thought it also help put things in perspective. I didn't fact check this but, here it is anyway:

Perhaps the U.S. should pull out of Chicago.

Body count: In the last six months 292 killed (murdered) in Chicago.

You couldn't own a hand gun in Chicago.

State pension fund $44 Billion in debt, worst in country.

Cook County (Chicago) sales tax 10.25% highest in country. (Look 'em up if you want).

Chicago school system rated one of the worst in the country.

I've had nothing but great times in Mexico...and Chicago also...and Los Angeles...San Pedro....and ......
