In Response To: Electronic chart accuracy in mexico------WebKitFormBoundary+rMpTC7vW2WP14Xw (Blue Moon------WebKitFormBoundary+rMpTC7vW2WP14Xw)

Don't know what it is but sometimes when I sail and use my GPS (handheld Magellan Meridan Marine ) down in MX, I often find my position to be about 2 to 3 miles inland. This happened near Mazatlan and again in Banderas Bay on rental sailboats. Maybe the source of their (Magellan) charts are a few centuries old or something.

At any rate, I plan on supplementing any GPS info with regular charts when I get down there. I've got the chart chip for MX in my installed Lowrance 320 but it's not as detailed as I'd like. Other than getting the LAT/LONG I doubt if I'll use the chart shown on the screen. I'd rather use the LAT/LONG provided and plot it on a regular chart. Besides, I'd rather use the screen for depth contours and fish finding. IMHO. Thanks sloopy
