Report: outside forum guidelines

In Response To: launching and first visit (Albert Bayen)

The best cruising guides are probably Gerry Cuninghams series but there are others. Google sea of Cortez cruising guides and you'll probable get another half dozen or so besides Gerry's. Wind speed is up to God but there are. 10 to 15 knot winds, no winds, and heavy winds. The best and worst sailing winds are usually in the fall and winter. (That's an opinion) I wouldn't worry too much about hurricanes north of Guaymas but at the same time I'd be checking and keeping track of all eastern pacific north bound tropical storms and hurricanes. Probably the worst wind storms are caused by the stalled Great Basin highs Those are Summer/Fall usually. There are great cruising grounds around Guaymas/San carlos and all kinds of ways to get you in and out of the water, it's not a problem for your boat.
